Technical questions about your Treadmill

There are many situations when it is required to move a treadmill from one location to another. A very common situation is in renovation of a single portion of a residential home or commercial facility.
How to Move a Treadmill?
Ensure the treadmill is set to a zero incline and unplugged from any external power sources. Most of the treadmills have a tower with a console mounted to the main frame of the treadmill with 2(3) bolts on each side. If you are not sure where those bolts are look into your assembly manual. If you bought your treadmill new you would know that all the treadmills come in a flat box with a console and a tower separated. The reason why you should take the tower off is because without it you can flip the treadmill's base and fit through any single door without damaging the equipment or your walls. After you unbolt the tower, (you can keep console mounted to the tower) move it an inch out of the treadmill and you will see wire coming out off the tower to the base of your treadmill. This wire connects your console and lower board (control board) of your treadmill. The wire usually has a connector which you will have to disconnect and place your tower aside your treadmill.
To begin the moving process one person should be positioned at the front of the treadmill (where the tower was) and another at the back end of the machine. The front of the treadmill is the heavy end, meaning it is heaviest end of the treadmill because the motor is located on that side. First, you lift one side of the treadmill (BOTH PEOPLE MUST DO IT TOGETHER) and put the base on its side, vertically. Then both people in squatting position (remember lift with your knees, not your back) grab the bottom of the treadmill and get up at the same time holding a base of the treadmill vertically. It is recommended to use back braces to avoid hurting your back. Before you start moving, ask each other if you are ready, make sure you have a firm, secure grip. When both of you are ready, the person with the light end should start moving backwards, while the person with the heavy end moves forward. Do not try to twist your body, look at your feet while you are moving backwards. The person with a heavy end should warn you about any upcoming obstacles.
After you move base to the desired location, begin the assembly of the treadmill. First connect your wire, then mount your tower to the base. After you completed the assembly, turn it on and make sure everything is working properly. After the move, you might need to do belt adjustments.

Here are a few simple steps that you can scrupulously follow for your own safety as well as the safety of the treadmill.

First of all, you will have to unplug the treadmill. This step is important. Never try to move a treadmill without unplugging it first. Also, remove the safety key from the treadmill.
Learn the art of lifting the treadmill. Bend your knees to the extent necessary and firmly grip the bottom of the treadmill. Lift the bottom edge of the treadmill cautiously and without haste to fold it upward. Steady yourself and hold the treadmill in an upright position.
Make sure to check the pin before moving away from the treadmill. Lift using the weight in your legs and not your back, for swinging the rear end of the treadmill frame up off the ground.
Lift the treadmill frame up, swinging it toward the main console. Never release it until the latch on the underside of the treadmill frame is securely fastened in the storage position.
Grasp the treadmill console and carefully tilt the treadmill back. You need to tilt it extremely slowly to prevent possible accidents. Tilting will facilitate placing the treadmill on its wheels.
Hold one of the handrails that protrude towards you on either side of the treadmill deck. Grasp the treadmill frame with your other hand. Try to place one foot against one of the wheels. Pull gently on the handrail to tip the treadmill towards you, till the treadmill is balanced on the wheels.
Wheel the treadmill cautiously to its new location. Once it is in its new site, position one foot against one of the wheels again. Lower the treadmill gently forward until it rests securely on its base like before.

Leave it up to our technicians to come and fix your equipment issues.
