#209 Err1
Models: Elite, Pro and Sport
Probable Cause
An Err1 error on the Trotter/Cybex Sport, Elite and Pro treadmills including models 450t, 500t, 515t, 520t, and 530t indicates no speed signal either because the motor is not turning or the signal is not being received. The following are possible causes for an Err1 error:
a) Speed calibration is needed
b) Speed sensor is faulty, dirty or needs adjusted
c) Motor brushes
d) Drive motor
e) Display cable
f) Lower board

Corrective Action
a) Perform speed calibration.
b) Check speed sensor; Visually inspect the speed sensor and speed disk or target on the flywheel for dust/debris, scratches or other damage.  Clean both if necessary.  Replace target if damaged.  Also, inspect the sensor gap and adjust if necessary.  Gap should be 3/16" between the sensor and flywheel.
c) Inspect the drive motor brushes; Replace if necessary.
d) Test motor; Checking current draw and motor voltage.  Replace drive motor if necessary.
e) Inspect the display cable and connections.  Replace display cable if necessary.
f) Check lower board; Replace if necessary.

Err3
Models: Elite, Pro and Sport
Probable Cause
An Err3 error on the Trotter/Cybex Elite, Sport and Pro treadmills including models 450t, 500t, 515t, 520t and 530t indicates the speed sense or signal is lost. The possible causes for this error are:
a) Speed sensor
b) Lower board
c) Drive motor
d) Display cable

Corrective Action
a) Inspect the speed sensor and speed disk/target; Clean both if necessary.  Replace speed disk/target if necessary.  Adjust gap of sensor to flywheel if necessary.  Replace speed sensor if necessary.
b) Check lower board; Replace if necessary.
c) Test drive motor; Checking for current draw and voltage.  Replace motor if necessary.
d) Inspect display cable; Reset connections or replace cable if necessary.

Err6
Models: Elite, Pro and Sport
Probable Cause
An error Err6 as seen on the Trotter/Cybex Pro, Sport and Elite treadmills including the models 450T, 500T, 515T, 520T and 530T is an over speed error. This occurs when the treadmill has either run at a speed that is 1 mph over the set speed of the unit for 1 second or run at a speed that is 2 mph over the set speed of the unit for 0.2 seconds without correction.
Possible cause for an Err6, over speed error:
a) Speed sensor

Corrective Action
a) Check the speed sensor; Replace speed sensor if necessary.

Err7
Models: Elite, Pro and Sport and Arc Traner 600a
Probable Cause
An error Err7 on the Cybex 600A Arc Trainer or Cybex/Trotter Sport, Pro and Elite treadmills including models 450t, 500t, 515t, 520t, and 530t signifies an EEPROM error and indicates a memory loss.
Corrective Action
Repair or replace the display board.

Err9
Models: Elite, Pro and Sport
Probable Cause
An Err9 error on the Cybex/Trotter Pro, Sport and Elite treadmills including models 450t, 500t, 515t, 520t, and 530t indicates that motor brush wear is too low and that indicator has been activated for over 100 miles.
a) Drive motor brushes

Corrective Action
a) Inspect drive motor brushes; Replace brushes if necessary.

ErrE
Models: Elite, Pro and Sport
Probable Cause
An ErrE error on the Cybex/Trotter Pro, Sport and Elite treadmills including models 450t, 500t, 515t, 520t and 530t indicates that the 0% is always on or the switch is disconnected or wired backwards. This means that timed elevation has gone up 2% and the index is still sensed.
The causes for an ErrE error:
a) Elevation calibration
b) Wiring

Corrective Action
a) Check the calibration of the elevation motor; Re-calibrate elevation motor if necessary.
b) Check wiring for 0 switch; Re-connect if necessary or re-wire if necessary.

bAd3
Models: Arc Trainer 600a, and SPORT, PRO, Elite Treadmills
Probable Cause
A bAd3 error on the Cybex/Trotter treadmill models Pro, Sport, and Elite including models 450t, 500t, 515t, 520t, and 530t as well as the Arc Trainer 600a indicates a watchdog timeout.
Corrective Action
Reset power to the machine by turning power switch off and on again. If error persists, replace the display board.

bAd2
Models: 600T, Pro, Sport, Elite Treadmills and Arc Trainer 600A
Probable Cause
A bAd2 error on the Trotter/Cybex 600T, Pro, Elite and Sport treadmills including 450t, 500t, 515t, 520t and 530t as well as the 600A Arc Trainer indicates an internal RAM error.
Cause for the bad2 error:
a) Display board

Corrective Action
Recycle power to the machine by turning power off and back on.  If error persists, replace the display board.

bAd0
Models: Arc Trainer 600a, SPORT, PRO, Elite Treadmills
Probable Cause
A faulty display board can be cause for a "bad0" error message to appear on Cybex 600A Arc Trainer or the Sport, Elite and Pro treadmills including models 450T, 500T, 515T, 520T and 530T.
Corrective Action
Recycle power to the machine by turning unit off and back on.  Repair or replace display board if error persists.
